Out of it (also Daraw, Darow, Arabic:دراو‎, Darāu, Darāw) is a city with about 38,000 inhabitants[1] in Upper Egypt on the east bank of the Nile in the governorate Aswan, about 40 kilometers north of Aswan and 8 kilometers south of Kom Ombo located.

The Nubian city lives from agriculture, handicrafts and the trade in agricultural and handicraft products. Mainly sugar cane, wheat, dates, vegetables and fruit are grown in the surrounding area.

Darāu is on the railway line from Aswan to Luxor. The 1 Darāu train station(24 ° 24 '18 "N.32 ° 55 ′ 39 ″ E) is located in the east of the city. The train ride from Aswan takes about 30 minutes, from Luxor about two and a half hours.
