Aléria is a city on the east coast of the French island Corsica.

Aléria was during the roman Occupation of Corsica, the capital of which at times had up to 20,000 inhabitants, was founded by the Phocaeans 300 years earlier.

The nearest airport is at Bastia.

Twice a day there is a bus from Bastia to Porto-Vecchio and in the opposite direction.

Tourist Attractions
- The roman ruins are the top attraction in Aléria. The foundation walls of the forum, temple, praetorium (government building), a bathing complex and an industrial area have been preserved.
- The archaeological museum in the Genoese castle Fort de Matra shows, for example, ancient grave finds and a menhir, which at Ghisonacchia was found. It's right by the excavations.

- The lagoon Etang de Diane north of Aléria is separated from the sea by a headland on which the Genoese tower Tour de Diana stands. There is also a beach here, the Plage du Padulone. The lagoon itself has been used for oyster farming since Roman times.
- Further south there is a second lagoon called Etang d‘Urbino, which is also used for oyster farming.
