As in the rest of Egypt, haggling is the key when it comes to hailing a taxi. Always agree on the price of the race before getting into the taxi. Go to the taxi and ask how much they would charge you to go to your destination, then offer half or a quarter and continue haggling. Stick with your haggling. If the taxi driver does not seem to accept the price you offer and you think it is fair, just walk away and walk a few meters forward: the taxi driver himself will probably catch up to accept the price.
