Urban centers
- Bafoussam - French-speaking capital of the Mifi department.
- Bamenda - Capital of the Mezam department. It rises in the western part of the Adamaoua massif, at an altitude of about 1,600 meters above sea level.
- Kumbo (or Kimbo) - The second largest city in the Northwest Region. This English-speaking city, 110 kilometers from Bamenda, the regional capital, rises above 1,700 meters.
