To explore Angkor There are a number of different tours available. In addition to the two classic round tours Petit Circuit and Grand Circuit you can also visit the temples chronologically or according to architectural aspects.^[1]

General

Sunrise: At sunrise you can also recommend the Srah Srang - it is not that crowded - but only when there is time, as sunrise at Angkor Wat is an absolute must. The sunset on Phnom Bakheng is very popular and therefore overcrowded.

• Tethered balloon: launch site 800 meters away from Angkor Wat (bookable Angkor Balloon)

For people passing through there are four key places to explore:

A day

Not everyone really wants to turn every stone in Angkor. A one-day tour takes you to the most important sites of the ancient Khmer Empire:

• South Gate Angkor Thom - central Angkor Thom (Bayon, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, Phimeanakas) - Ta Prohm - (Pre Rup) - Angkor Wat - sunset on the Phnom Bakheng (at lunchtime you can also go back to Siem Reap - to eat or buy souvenirs).
• Especially for tours of up to 4 people, the small Ta Nei temple is often in the program, which cannot be reached by the large vans and buses.

Two days

Day 1:	South Gate Angkor Thom - central Angkor Thom (Bayon, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King, Phimeanakas) - Ta Prohm - (Pre Rup) - Angkor Wat - sunset on the Phnom Bakheng
Day 2:	Option 1: Angkor Wat at sunrise - Pre Rup - Banteay Srei - (Banteay Samre) - Thommanon - lunch break in Siem Reap - Roluos group
	Option 2: Angkor Wat at sunrise - Preah Khan - Victory Gate - Thommanon - (Pre Rup) - Prasat Kravan - lunch break in Siem Reap - Roluos group
	Option 3: Angkor Wat at sunrise - Preah Khan - Neak Pean - Ta Som - (Pre Rup) - (Prasat Kravan) - Roluos group

Three days

A 'temple burnout' can happen here. However, more time is planned for the individual temples here

Chronological tours

A chronological exploration of the facilities provides a nice overview of the development of the culture of the Khmer Empire. However, it takes a lot of time to get a complete overview.

The most beautiful reliefs

• Terrace of the Leper King: King Yasovarman I built the first city of Angkor died of leprosy. The relief is very fine and well preserved.

Romantic Angkor

If you just want to enjoy the atmosphere at Angkor's temples, you will find some beautiful places.

Day 1:	In the morning: The sunrise at Angkor Wat is almost a must, after a short breakfast you can go straight to the now hardly visited temple Ta Prohm.
	late afternoon: Upper level of the Bayon. The sunset can be enjoyed from the summit of Phnom Bakheng.
Day 2:	In the morning: You can still enjoy the sunrise almost alone on Srah Srang. Then you visit the little-visited temples Ta Som and Preah Khan.
	late afternoon: Ta Prohm. Sunset from the top level of Ta Keo.
