Urban centers
- Hefei - Capital of Anhui province 480 km west of Shanghai, Hefei is a city with 3,300,000 inhabitants (2010).
- Bengbu - In the north of the province, Bengbu is a city of 800,000 inhabitants.
- Huang Mountains (Huangshan) - From the evocative landscapes, the Huang mountains were praised by poets and provided the inspiration for countless painters. Since 1990 they have been included in the list of World Heritage Sites.
- Tunxi - Base for excursions to Huang Mountains, Tunxi is a city of about 1,500,000 inhabitants that has preserved buildings from the Ming era.
- Wuhu - Bathed by the Blue River (or Yangtze) Wuhu is an industrial center as well as a river port.
- Xidi is Hongcun - Two ancient villages in the south of the province included in the list UNESCO of the World Heritage Sites.
