Ao Thong Nai Pan is located on the northeastern tip of Ko Pha Ngan and it contains two secluded beaches Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai and Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi. These are perhaps the most remote of the developed beaches.
Arrive
Arriving at the port of Thong Sala you will see one or more cab/pick up truck drivers waiting in the crowd, holding a sign with the name of the destination Ao Thong Nai Pan. Note, not all go to both beaches, so if you really want to go to one of the two, look for the addition Yai or Noi. The price is 100 baht p.p. Since the beaches are less crowded and quite far away, the taxi will only drive if there are enough passengers for the ride, if not, you have to wait with the driver for the next boat.
But if you've chosen this destination, it's hard to imagine being in a rush. If that is the case, you can take a taxi to the village (or walk there (at the end of the pier turn left until the roundabout and then right into the village street). There you can buy those typical Thai 125 cc mopeds rent for about 150 baht per day Note that the road to Ao Thong Nai Pan is largely unpaved and has steep slopes (see photo) It can be a dangerous ride, especially if it has recently rained. The 15 km therefore take about 50 minutes

- The sunrise, day after day after day.
- Try to spot the 2m long, harmless monitor lizards that are unique to this region.
To do
- walking from one beach to another.
- Climb along the waterfall all the way from top to bottom.
- Also take some good ones books along.
- Or let yourself be pampered with a delicious massage at Warin Toy Thai Massage for approx. € 6 per hour. Open every day from 8:30 am to 11:00 pm.
To buy
There is hardly anything for sale here. There are 3 Pin machines in creeping distance from each other the financial center by Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi. Also in Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi there is a pharmacy that has a bookstore with 2nd hand books. Don't imagine too much of it, but if you decide to stay a week longer (which is very possible!) it will come in handy.
Food
Fresh, delicious steamed or grilled fish. Available at a number of tents, recognizable by the tank with fish on ice that is outside.
Going out
All the tents in the town look alike; so, open bamboo constructions with cold beer, Western music and a relaxed atmosphere. There are also a few on the beach, but since they usually belong to a guesthouse, they close between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
stay overnight
There are guesthouses with excellent bungalows right on the beach and also a few hidden places in the village. Prices for a bungalow right on the beach vary, depending on the season and quality, between 200 and 1200 baht per night. However, leave your bag at one of the cafes and find one that suits your budget and taste. At both ends of Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi there are chic resorts in the Expensive price category.
