Geographical notes

It is located in the flat area in the center of the Vaucluse Prealps, bordered to the south by the Luberon massif. It is crossed by the Calavon river and the rivers Dôa, Riaille, Marguerite, Rimayon flow into its territory

Background

It was the ancient Roman colony of Apta, founded by Gaius Julius Caesar and then colonized again by Hadrian in Narbonne Gaul. The Via Domitia passed through it.
