- Alaverdi - The city itself has little to offer of historical value, but it has several beautiful monasteries in its proximity, such as Sanahin Monastery and Haghpat Monastery.
- Berd - The surrounding region is a paradise for hikers and cyclists.
- Dilijan - Center of the "Small Switzerland Armenian "", and very popular place with locals who want to get away from the city.
- Gyumri - The second largest city of Armenia, about 120 km from Yerevan. Its small historic center still shows the damage of the 1988 earthquake.
- Ijevan - Near the Makaravank Monastery.
- Noyemberyan - Small town near the border with the Georgia, with 2 small monasteries in the surroundings.
- Spitak - Completely destroyed during the devastating 1988 earthquake, and later rebuilt in a slightly different location.
- Stepanavan - Mostly famous for the ruins of the walled city of Lori, located in its vicinity.
- Vanadzor - Third largest city of Armenia with examples of Soviet industrial architecture, although it has a couple of beautiful churches.
