Parigoritissa Church
- 4 Parigoritissa Church (Η Παρηγορήτρια). - Byzantine church, which is located in front of Skoufa square. It was built in 1285 by Nikiforos I Komnenos Doukas and his wife Anna Paleologina Katakouzinis. It is considered a notable example of Byzantine architecture that stands out for the originality of the shapes and for the large dimensions.
- 5 Church of Santa Teodora (Αγία Θεοδώρα), Central square. -. The original church was built in the 11th century in the form of a three-nave basilica. The relics housed in the temple are also very interesting. The portable icon of Christ, dating from 1653, two magnificent silver sanctuaries, with embossed decoration, containing the relics of Saint Theodora and the silver icon of Saint, a work of the 17th century, made on a thin layer of gold . To the left of the south entrance to the church is the tomb of Agia Theodora. If the visitor is in the city of Arta during Holy Week, he can witness the custom of fire in Agia Theodora. The parishioners and children of Agia Theodora Arta light a large fire in the churchyard on the night of Holy Thursday during the fifth Gospel. The custom symbolizes the fires lit by Jesus' disciples before the government of Pontius Pilate on the night of his arrest.
