- Flemish Mining Museum, Koolmijnlaan 12 3585 Beringen, tel: (011) 42 15 52, [2]. In the Flemish Mining Museum, the story of the miner and the mining is told. An arrangement in the museum starts with an atmospheric opening film and from then on the guides guide the visitor through the museum. A recreated pillar gives a good picture of the work in the subsurface. A model with sound and light shows how the opencast mine works. In one of the four collection buildings you will find the visitor center where the past and present of the mining region are shown on the basis of an exhibition.
