Berja is a city in the province of Almeria, Spain.

Berja is a city of more than 15,500 inhabitants, traditional and modern, clean as the water from its abundant sources, whose oldest houses preserve their orchards and that distinguished air of other times.Berja is located within the Lower Alpujarra Almeriense, in the extreme southwest of the province of Almería, in eastern Andalusia, southeast of the Iberian Peninsula. It limits to the west with the municipality of Turón (Granada province), to the north with Alcolea, Laujar de Andarax and Fondón, to the south with Adra and the Mediterranean Sea and to the east with Dalías and El Ejido, all of them in the province of Almería . This nucleus is accessed from the south, through the provincial highways Al-103 (Alquería-Río Grande) and Al-616 (Virgen del Carmen-Río Chico), through the regional highway Adra-Berja and to the east through the also autonomous highway of El Ejido-Berja, both with direct access to the Autovía del Mediterráneo, which crosses the southern end of the municipality. From the north, the regional highway from Alcolea-Laujar de Andarax penetrates and from the west it can be accessed from the province of Granada by the regional highway from Turón, crossing the Benínar Reservoir. It is located about 50 km from the capital, 18 from El Ejido and 17 from Adra. Almería International Airport is 64 km away.
