Boczków - Boczków

Bacon is a village located in the southern part Greater Poland Voivodeship, in you will say Ostrów, in the northern part of the commune Nowe Skalmierzyce. The village is located about 2 kilometers north of New Skalmierzyce by the district road Skalmierzyce - Biskupice. With about 400 inhabitants, the characteristic old buildings are interesting - the red brick buildings stretch along the main road crossing the village.

  • The main attraction is Court from the mid-nineteenth century, which was later expanded. It is built on a T-shaped plan, with a four-column front portico and a central wing on the south side. The condition of the building itself can be described as a progressive ruin, getting worse every year. Directly adjacent to the building landscaped park with an area of ​​1.7 ha and the remains of a farm with buildings from the end of the 19th century.
  • At the main intersection there is statue in 1982, at the place of death Jan Mertka, a soldier of the Border Battalion from Szczypiorno near Kalisz. He was shot by the Germans on December 27, 1918, a few hours before the outbreak of the Greater Poland Uprising. In response to the attack, the Poles took Boczków, which became the first liberated town in Greater Poland.
