The West Bohemia is the westernmost region of the Czech Republic.

The region is made up of two administrative regions: the Plzeň region (Plzeňský kraj in Czech) and the Karlovy Vary region (Karlovarský kraj in Czech).

The Plzeň region is characterized by a wooded landscape crossed by a network of rivers and ponds, enjoying an almost unspoiled nature, dotted with small villages and dominated by numerous castles. The center of the region is the city of Plzeň which is the economic, cultural and social metropolis of all of West Bohemia.
