Bramans Val d'Ambin is a charming little village in the Savoy Alps. In the valley of the Haute-Maurienne at the gates of Vanoise Park this village has managed to keep all its charm and old traditions.
Broken down into three hamlets (Bramans Chef-Lieu, Le Verney and Le Planay) Bramans offers more than 100Km of hiking between La Maurienne, Le Planay, Le Mont-Cenis and Italy (Giaglione).

This tradition dates back to pagan times, each August 15 (Assumption) the Virgin Mary is celebrated in Bramans.
The morning of August 15. The Bramans firefighter's review, dressed in Second Empire Napoleon attire and the women in traditional Savoyard costume, leave the capital with a fanfare to join the church carrying the pyramid of anise and saffron bread, decorated with flowers, to be blessed there during mass. After this, the bread is shared with the crowd gathered in front of the church before the fanfare (firefighters), women and men in costume, leave for Verney (hamlet of Bramans) to share a pot of friendship. And finally, head back to the capital.
In the afternoon, it's a party in the village, old tradition, old profession ... the whole village is mobilized to bring people who have come to discover Haute-Maurienne, its traditions and know-how, to life. In the evening a big ball in the open air followed by fireworks.
