By car
Bur Dubai and the rest of Dubai are connected with Deira by five bridges over the Creek, namely the 1 Al Maktoum bridge, the 2 floating bridge, the 3 Al Garhoud bridge, the 4 Business Bay Crossing and the 5 Al Shindagha tunnel. All bridges charge road tolls.
On a boat
Abra
Some small ferries called heritage abra cross the Creek from Bur Dubai. One path goes from the 6 Bur Dubai station at the western end of the Textile Souk in Bur Dubai until 7 spice souk terminal by Deira. The other main route goes from the 8 old station of the souk, in the middle of the textile souk, at the 9 Al Sabkha station in Deira. The journey costs 1 dirham, payable to the driver after the boat has left the station. Abra leaves very regularly and the service is available 24 hours a day.
On the inner side of the Creek, an Abra motorized path has been opened from 10 Al Jaddaf Water Transport Station (250m from Creek subway station) to the 11 Dubai Festival City water transport station, with a more modern style. These Motorized Abras are operated by RTA every 10-20 minutes[link not working] from 7:00 to midnight and cost 2 dirhams per person.

3 dirhams.
Sat-Thu 8: 30-20: 30, Fri 14: 00-20: 30. A must for anyone interested in the social history of the Emirate (and indeed the country). Located in and under the al-Fahidi fort. The fort itself has some examples of the traditional cane houses and other artifacts, but there isn't much to see. The most interesting parts are the modern galleries under the fort, which showcase Dubai's history using the latest technology culminating in a reconstructed souk from the time of pearls, complete with authentic sights and sounds. It is quite fascinating to see the speed with which the transition from the poor pearl village to the modern metropolis occurred.

It is famous for being close enough to a Hindu temple and followers of both Islam and Hinduism can be seen gathered in the same place to pray.
- 7 Iranian mosque (Ali Ibn Abi Talib Mosque), not far from 34th St (metro Al Ghubaiba or Al Fahidi), ☎ 971 4 352 5252. A very colorful and attractive tiled mosque; quite a contrast to the other much more clearly decorated mosques. Compared to other mosques this one is of Shiite faith.
