Capesterre-de-Marie-Galante (creole: Kapestè Marigalant) is a municipality on the island Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe.
background
The fishing village is located on a plateau by the sea. The streets are laid out like a chessboard, six in each direction. The chapel of Sainte-Anneaus from 1889 is supposed to protect the place. The administrative building of the place was carried out in 1930 by Ali Tur. The Grotte du Morne Rita and rock carvings are the last witnesses of the indigenous population. The new fishing port has a size of 4,800 m² with a quay length of 173 meters.

Capesterre is a good 12 km east of the port of Grand-Bourg with its boat connections and just under 7 km from the regional airport. The D 203 district road from Grand-Bourg runs parallel to the coast all the way and is well developed and paved throughout.
