- 1 Saint-Martin-du-Canigou Abbey Saint-Martin-du-Canigou abbey (Take the N116 to Villefranche de Conflent, then direction Vernet-les-Bains Casteil. The climb to the abbey must be done on foot (30 to 50 min from the Casteil car parks). The belfry decorated with arches, the marble capitals, the abbey church and the vaulted crypt make it a jewel of the first regional Romanesque art. Restored with enthusiasm at XXe century, the abbey has been entrusted by the diocese to the Catholic Community of the Beatitudes since 1988.
