To know
Background
The area owes its name to castellum aquae, a large tank of the Florence aqueduct built under Claudius, where the waters of the Marina stream were stored before being led to the city. Traces of it remain only in the toponymy: it was exactly in the La Chiusa locality located in the Municipality of Calenzano. From here an aqueduct branched off which, in ruins, was visible at least until the 15th century.
