Most visitors to China must have a pre-issued entry visa. If you are visiting the Zhuhai area, a three-day visa on arrival is available at the border. Upon entering the Gongbei immigration building, after going through all the duty free shops, the visa office is behind a green door on the right hand side of the hall. Follow the stairs and you'll find the office on the left. You need to fill out a small white form, pay the fee and take a picture with a webcam. The visa is then processed within minutes. Zhuhai is served by Zhuhai Tam Tao International Airport (IATA: ZUH). It is a modern, medium-sized airport that connects the area with many Chinese cities, but has no international destinations. It is located west of the city center in Jinwan District. Airport Express buses depart from the airport to Gongbei Xiangzhen area and are priced at 30 yuan (November 2010) per passenger, and according to the schedule of the trips. fly to. Other airports

To get to Zhuhai from outside China, one would typically fly to Hong Kong, Macau or Guangzhou. All three cities have large, modern airports with many international connections and all are within an hour or two of Zhuhai, Macau being the closest. Shenzhen is a large modern airport nearby, but it has few international connections.

From Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (IATA: CAN), there is a regular express bus service to Zhuhai. The fare is 80 yuan and it takes about 2.5 hours with a gate north of Zhuhai before entering the Gongbei border gate to Macau. There is a check-in place at Gongbei bus stop, located near KFC.

From Macau International Airport (IATA: MFM), the best way to get to Zhuhai is via the Express Link service, bypassing Macau immigration and customs. Once you get off the plane, instead of going through the immigration gate, search for Express Link (China) registration and follow it. This will lead you through a scanning security transfer station where you must receive a Link Express card, and upstairs to the departure hall. Go to the ticket counter at gate 8, show your card and buy a bus ticket going to Gongbei Port of Entry. The fare is 52 yuan and the ride only takes 15 minutes. Departure time is 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 14:45, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00. If you decide to go through Macau immigration at the airport and use the Taxi service to get to Zhuhai, the ride takes only about 15 minutes. It costs about 60-80 yuan for a short trip. But the price is reasonable for those traveling in groups who want to share the cost of the taxi with others. Fees include a surcharge of 5 yuan at the airport, 5 yuan per piece of luggage. Another option from Hong Kong is to catch a ferry from the HKIA Skypier to Macau and then into Zhuhai via the Gongbei border gate. Immigration and customs clearance can be bypassed at the end of Hong Kong. The ferry ride takes about 50 minutes and runs by the hour (usually).

A third option from HKIA is now available in the form of long-distance buses that go overland to Gongbei. The journey takes 3.5 hours and costs HK$200. Departure times are 07:00, 08:00, 16:00, 17:00, and 19:00.

The newly introduced ferry service brings travelers directly from HKIA to the port of Jiuzhou in Zhuhai. Ferry leaves at 12:15, 14:04, 17:00, and 20:00. One from Zhuhai to HKIA leaves at 09:30, 12:40, 15:30, and 18:30. The trip takes about 50 minutes.
