The Gulf of St. Lawrence circuit is a road route between Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and Newport (or vice versa) in Gaspesie to Quebec.
Understand
The Gulf of St.Lawrence circuit is a route that follows Route 132 which circles the Gaspesie. This circuit extends from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts on the north shore of the peninsula to Newport on the south shore, or vice versa, following the coastline. It also includes a detour to get to Murdochville inside the peninsula.

From June 3 to August 27 (by reservation 24 h in advance from August 28 to October 8), the schedule of the various activities varies. – Complex located on the quay of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts including an aquarium park and touch pools presenting living species of the St. Lawrence, fish-gathering activities, sea excursions aboard the zodiac JV Exploramer as well as a museum presenting interactive exhibitions on the sea with guided tours by biologists. Beginning of June to beginning of October every day, variable hours for special activities, the salmon pass closes on September 30. – Lighthouse, museum, café-restaurant in the former house of the assistant guardian. Free. – Place of pilgrimage since 1940, exhibition on the history of the sanctuary. The tomb of the founder, Father Jean-Marie Watier is located in the adjacent Chapel of Remembrance which is open 24 h for reflection. Solitary contemplation possible by reservation. June 12 to September 30, daily. – Century-old lighthouse where Marconi installed the first maritime radio station ofNorth America in 1904 and communications center during the two world wars, recognized as a national historic site of Canada. Exhibitions on Marconi, telegraph operators, lighthouse keepers. Hiking trails leading to a mountain, the sea and the fishing harbor of L'Anse-à-Valleau. Does not accept bank cards and credit cards.

Entrance fees (see website). – The famous Percé rock. On Bonaventure Island, the most accessible northern gannet colony in the world, 15 km of trails, nature and history interpretation program and the Margaulx restaurant which offers its famous fish soup. In the Charles-Robin sector, Chafaud discovery center, Saline and La Neigère Nature store. Pets are prohibited with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs. Ferries operated by private contractors provide transportation to access Bonaventure Island from the wharf at Perforated.
