Understand
The Valencian Community has two official languages: Castilian (Spanish) and Valencian (a Catalan dialect). If you speak one of these two languages, you will make yourself understood anywhere in the Community. Otherwise, rest assured, a large portion of Spanish people speak at least English, and many of them speak French.

Circulate
The road and motorway network is in perfect condition throughout the region.
Many expressways connect most of the localities, a single toll freeway (called "autopista" ...) exists along the coast, very busy during summer migrations. This numbered axis AP-7 serves the towns of Castellon de la Plana and of Valence, its course continues in the direction of Benidorm and D'Alicante.
Other expressways (known as "autovia" ...) were built on the route of old national roads not running alongside the toll motorway, offering the same levels of service and safety expected on a toll motorway:
- A-3 : from Madrid and dessert Requena then Valence
- A-7 : more or less follows the course of its great cousin theAP-7 and extends to Murcia
- A-23 : connects Sagunto in the north of Valence directly to theAragon
- A-31 : connects Alicante at Albacete
- A-35 : connects Xàtiva at Albacete
- A-38 : new expressway which gradually absorbs the layout of the current road N-332 Between Sollana and Benidorm and double the toll freeway AP-7
- A-70 : ring roadAlicante
- V-15 : East access Valence leading to the beaches via El Saler
- V-21 : North access from Valence
- V-31 : southern access from Valence
- CV-10 : fast track avoiding Castellon de la Plana by inland from Sagunto and is now a free alternative toAP-7 in this sector
The service stations are located as well on the main axes as on the ordinary roads, they tend to become rarer in the mountainous massifs. International payment cards are generally accepted.
Watch out for the nervous conduct of locals, unsuitable gait and disregarding safety distances are common.
