Concarneau (Breton Konk-Kerne) is one french City in the department Finistère, in the Brittany.
background
Politically, the city belongs to the Arrondissement of Quimper, and is the administrative seat of the Canton of Concarneau.
The city has grown around the original old town. The old town is located on an island in the fishing port, and is designed as a fortified city 350 meters long and 100 meters wide. It is completely surrounded by a wall which in turn is surrounded by water. A single bridge leads into the old town, which one fits Ville Close is called.
The fishing port is the third largest in France and the most important tuna port in the country.

With TGV-Atlantique without changing trains Paris-Montparnasse via Rennes to Quimper or Rosporden. All TGV's stop in Quimper, in Rosporden only about every second one, price is the same.
Continue with bus 43 or bus 44 (from Rosporden). A single bus ticket can be purchased from the driver and costs € 2 (2012). The summer timetable applies from the beginning of July to the beginning of September. Outside this time, there are fewer buses, which are primarily tailored to the needs of the students.
