Located in the heart of the Brie and on the edges of the Grand Morin, Coulommiers is located 60 km to the east of Paris, To 20 km from the highway A4 and the new town of Marne Valley (Disneyland Paris, Val d'Europe) and to 35 km from the highway AT 5. The town is crossed by the departmental road 934 (ex national 34) of Paris To Esternay. The town has a train station, connected to Paris-Est.

  • Municipal Theater  – Italian-style theater, early 20th century, Parisian architects Charles Duval and Camille Robida. Monumental freestone facade, pierced by a glass roof and surmounted by a baroque-inspired pediment. The date of 1904 is engraved on the pediment. The theater still retains its original machinery.   • Public Library  – Located in the old prison built from 1851, on the plans of the architect Mangeon. Its structure is inspired by the prisons of Meaux and Fontainebleau. The prison is spread over five levels, with thirty-three individual cells, including three punishment cells. Used as a place of internment for resistance fighters by the occupier during the Second World War, it was then used as a remand center until 1958, then as a correctional house until 1969. Decommissioned, the buildings were then used for detention. shooting of several films and telefilms, before the Ministry of Justice decides to sell the set in 1978. The city asserted its right of pre-emption and acquired the old prison for the sum of 180,000 francs.   • Cheese hall  – Its name results from the markets that took place there and which were mainly intended for Brie cheeses including Coulommiers. The construction of this building was decided by the municipality on . In 1960, a restoration campaign provided it with concrete walls, in order to protect exhibitors against wind and cold. In 1999, it was decided to remove this much criticized addition and restore the hall to its original appearance.

  • Valentin de Boulogne House  – Located near the Palais de Justice, the Valentin de Boulogne house is the birthplace of painter Valentin de Boulogne (1591-1634), famous in the 17th century for the quality of its chiaroscuro and scenes of everyday life. The garden of the Bailli Huvier's house is a pleasure garden dating from 1750 of which Jean-Antoine Huvier du Mée, the last bailiff of Coulommiers, is the sponsor.
  • Place du 27-August  – Place where a monument to the dead of the two World Wars is located. The square owes its name to the date of the liberation of the city by the American army of General Patton the , two days after Paris. The old calf hall was located here.
