Cuandixia (in Chinese: 爨 地下 -Chuandixia 川 地下) is a village, about 70 houses, is 650 meters altitude on the hillside. The village is located approximately 110 km southwest of Beijing.
Understand
The Ming and Qing period habitat is well preserved. You can see siheyuans with their traditional plan, a courtyard surrounded by three or four buildings. Do not hesitate to go in everywhere, like the Chinese ... especially since almost all the houses have a restaurant (local and family cuisine). The entrance doors, with their carved wooden lintels and red lanterns, are magnificent. At the top of the village, you can visit the old temple. The village is surrounded by terraced crops: corn, walnuts, sunflowers and vegetable plants. Around the village, you can climb the hillsides by small paths and stairs. You can take a short walk of fifteen minutes from the top of the village to the east, on the same hill as the village. You can also climb the hill in front of the village, 30 min. From the top, we have an exceptional bird's eye view of the village and the valley. The visit of the valley above the village (2 h) with its parade, its waterfalls (when there is water), its cave and the uncultivated terraced crops offer magnificent perspectives: continue on the road which goes up leaving Cuandixia on the right, take a staircase on the right about 100 meters after the village, there is a second a little further under the cave.
