Deir el-Baramus (also Borrhomaios Monastery, Arabic:دير البراموس‎, Dair al-Baramus) is the northernmost monastery complex in Wādī en-Naṭrūn in the egyptianGovernorateel-Buheira.

getting there

The journey can be from Cairo or Alexandria from the motorway connecting the two cities by taxi or by bus. About halfway (after 110 km), you can see the spot at the gas station, you leave the motorway in a westerly direction. You need a taxi to get between the motorway junction to the monasteries.
