Administratively the Mekong Delta region is divided into the following provinces:

Urban centers
- Cần Thơ - With more than 1,000,000 inhabitants, Cần Thơ is the largest city in the delta. Among its attractions, the floating markets of Cai Rang and Phong Dien.
- My Tho - Picturesque capital of the Tien Giang Province, My Tho it forms the basis for excursions to the branches of the Mekong Delta. It is 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City.
- Phu Quoc - Island of in the gulf of Thailand with white beaches that have contributed to making it a renowned tourist destination.
