Devin - place of mineral springs

The town of Devin is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level in a wide basin, in the middle of the hills of the southern Rodopen Mountains. The health resort with 6,000 inhabitants is located 90 km south of Plovdiv, 45 km north-west of Smolyan and 198 km south-east of the capital Sofia.

A large number of Roman coins were found in the area, from which it can be concluded that there was a settlement there as early as the Roman era.

Today Devin is very well known for balneology and healing of various diseases through the numerous mineral water springs and the mild climate. The close proximity of the coniferous forests, rivers and hills as well as the hospitality of the locals offer you everything for your relaxation in peaceful nature.

Interesting for visitors to Devin are the city's historical museum and the Church of St. Joan Rilski. The architectural-ethnographic reserve "Schiroka Laka" is located 21 km from Devin. The most beautiful areas of the Rhodope Mountains - the Trigrad Gorge and a large number of caves ("Devil's Neck", "Jagostinska", "Haramiiska" and others) are located in the vicinity.
