- On September 6th 1975 the opened in Smolyan planetarium, it is the most popular observatory in Bulgaria and one of the most visited attractions in this mountain town. It has been visited by more than 2.5 million people over the past 35 years. To promote astronomical knowledge, the planetarium offers more than 50 programs (sessions) in its auditorium (Star Hall). These include: programs stories of youngest children, many lessons, general and thematic for a general audience. For foreign guests of the planetarium, programs are offered in various foreign languages: Russian, French, German, English, Greek, Turkish.
