Dietramszell is a municipality in the region Tölzer Land.

In 1098 monks from the Tegernsee area founded a monastery under the name Martinszell. After the death of the founding provost Dietram in the year it was renamed Dietramszell. The monastery was destroyed in a major fire in 1636. In the following time it was rebuilt and experienced a heyday that came to an end with the secularization of 1803. In 1831, Salesian women opened a girls' school in the former monastery, which lasted until 1990 with a few interruptions. Today there is a Montessori school in the building complex.

Since the regional reform around 1975, the former communities of Ascholding, Baiernrain, Föggenbeuern, Linden and Manhartshofen have belonged to Dietramszell, and the community consists of around 60 districts
