Urban centers

  • 1 Alba Iulia - Today's district capital occupies the site of the Roman Apulum and boasts fortifications and historical monuments of some importance such as the Cathedral of San Michele where the remains of the leader are preserved John Hunyadi (1407–1456).
  • 2 Gârda de Sus - Municipality consisting of 16 traditional villages located in the upper valley of the Arieș river in the Apuseni mountains, along the DN75 national road.
