The Dreisessel is a popular hiking destination in the summer months and known to winter sports enthusiasts in the winter months.

According to an old legend, the kings of the neighboring countries (Bavaria, Bohemia, Austria) once met on the summit of the mountain and divided the respective kingdoms from this point.
The mountain at the foot of the village owes its name Altreichenau its appearance - three boulders that resemble huge armchairs.

There are numerous hiking trails around the Dreisessel. Many of them cross borders and invite you to march into neighboring Austria and the Czech Republic. Most of the paths can also be traveled by bike. In the winter months, the area around the Dreisessel should definitely be explored with snowshoes. An absolute highlight!
