The area of the country is 1,001,450 km2. Much of the territory is occupied by deserts.
The country has borders with Israel, Gaza Strip, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Libya. The east coast (shore of the Red Sea) is a popular resting place, in crisis due to falling visits amid political instability and the COVID-19 epidemic.
