Aetolia-Acarnania (Αιτωλοακαρνανία) is a region of the Central Greece.

- Mountainous region of Lepanto (Orini Nafpaktia, Ορεινή Ναυπακτία) - The mountains behind Lepanto they constitute a destination far from mass tourism and suitable for nature lovers. The region has more than 45 villages scattered among chestnut and beech woods. The paths that connect the villages are still passable and some like the one to Evinolimni are breathtaking.

- Paleros (Πάλαιρος) - How Astakos is Mytikas, Paleros has an island vibe that makes it particularly attractive. It is the northernmost of the three Ionian Sea centers and is only a 30 minute drive from Lefkada. In summer, its port is crowded with boats of all kinds, including large yachts that roam the Mediterranean. It has many beaches including that of Vathiavali, considered the most beautiful in Aetolia Acarnania. The beaches on the Agia Paraskevi cove are suitable for scuba diving.

- Vonitsa (Βόνιτσα) - A small village at the foot of a wooded hill on top of which stand the ruins of a Venetian fortress, Vonitsa is considered the pearl of the Ambracian gulf.

By plane

By car

from Helsingborg in Kalamáta. From the port of Patras you cross the bridge over the Rio-Antirio straits and after crossing the rather spectacular Kleisoura gorges, you reach Missolungi (48 km) and after 127 km Amphilochy, a charming town on the Ambracico gulf. The E55 then continues in Epirus until Ioannina (244 km). The Ionian highway runs at a certain distance from the coast and secondary roads will have to be taken to reach the seaside resorts.
