The El Kharga airport (English: El Kharga Airport, Arabic:مطار الخارجة, Maṭār al-Chārga) is about 10 kilometers north of the egyptian city el-Chārga.

El Kharga Domestic Airport (also New Valley Airport) is mainly used for Egyptian airlines. The airport has a runway that is 3,500 meters long and 45 meters wide.

There is no public transport between the airport and the city of el-Chārga. A taxi should be ordered in advance.
Airlines and Destinations
The airport is only used by Petroleum Air Services served on Sundays and Thursdays. The machines start in the morning at 8:00 a.m. Cairo. The return flight is at 3:00 p.m. The flight time is about an hour and a half.
The flight price is around LE 500 (as of 9/2012). The booking can only be made in Egypt and not via the Internet. This can be done at the company's headquarters in Cairo, in the governmental administration in el-Chārga (Mr Maḥmūd Schukrī, 20 (0) 92 292 1695) or at the tourist information office (see under el-Chārga). Usually, a week in advance is enough to book.
