1 The main station is in the city center, Frankenthal is on the railway line between Mainz and Ludwigshafen on the Rhine. The following access offers are available:

  • S-Bahn Rhein-Neckar line S6 every half hour to Mannheim and Mainz.
  • Regional train from Frankenthal every half hour to Ramsen via Freinsheim and Grünstadt.

Then there are the following regional express trains every 2 hours:

  • RE Karlsruhe; Graben-Neudorf; Philippsburg; Germersheim; Speyer Hbf; Schifferstadt; Ludwigshafen; Frankenthal; Worms; Mainz; Frankfurt am Main
  • RE Mannheim; Ludwigshafen; Frankenthal; Worms; Mainz; Frankfurt am Main

The two RE run so offset that there is an hourly service between Frankenthal and Frankfurt am Main.

Then there is the Frankenthal-Süd stop. This is only served by the S-Bahn and regional trains. This gives you a better transfer option if you want to e.g. from Mannheim in the direction of Grünstadt or vice versa.

During commuter times there are also workers' trains that go directly to the BASF factory premises in Ludwigshafen. They turn heads at the Ludwigshafen-Oggersheim train station and then continue to BASF.

  • The A6Motorway A 6 runs north of Frankenthal, the driveways are the Symbol: AS 22 Frankenthal and Symbol: AS 23 Ludwigshafen North. About the B9 there is also a good connection to the south in the direction of Ludwigshafen.
