Grand Portage National Monument is a trail used by fur traders (voyageurs) in the late 18th century to transport trade goods from the Lake Superior shore to the Pigeon River and furs in the opposite direction. It is now administered by the U.S. National Park Service.
Pigeon River Falls is in the Grand Portage State Park.
