Urban centers
- Ittoqqortoormiit - A locality of about 500 inhabitants located at the easternmost point of Greenland, on Jameson Land, on the northern shore of Scoresby Sund; belongs to the municipality of Sermersooq.
- Kulusuk - Small village in Greenland of 400 inhabitants. It is located on a small island in the municipality of Sermersooq, a forty minute walk from the airport.
- Sermersooq - with its 635 600 km² it is the second largest municipality in the world after Qaasuitsup.
- Tasiilaq (or Ammassalikk) - Town located on the east coast of Greenland; belongs to the municipality of Sermersooq.
How to get
By plane
There are two airports along the east coast, Kulusuk is Nerlerit Inaat. Both require a helicopter transfer to the main settlements, Tasiilaq is Ittoqqortoormiit. Both airports have flights from the west coast with Air Greenland and in the summer fromIceland with Air Iceland.
