the rusyn, also called Ruthenian (denomination also used for an ancient extinct language at the common origin of Belarusian, of the'Ukrainian and "rusyn"), is a language or a group of dialects that are part of the living East Slavic languages, such as Russian, the'Ukrainian and the Belarusian.

In Ukraine, Rusyn is considered a dialect of Ukrainian while in Slovakia, Poland and Serbia it is considered a minority language.
