Tourist Attractions
Belize Central Prison is in Hattieville. This was taken over by the Kolbe Foundation in 2002, and at that time it was in a disastrous state and poorly managed. The new main task from now on was, in addition to more humane accommodation, the training of the prisoners. Numerous workshops and gardens were created. Furthermore, since then, the products manufactured in the prison have been sold in a separate shop in the prison. This includes jewelry, hammocks, sculptures, handicrafts and many other items. The complex also has a snack shop and a botanical garden.
