From Reykjavik via the R 1 to Borgarnes from there via the R 54 to shortly before Búdir. Continue on the R 574 via Arnastapi to Hellissandur.

The tallest structure in Western Europe is located near Hellissandur. It is a 412 meter high transmission mast for long wave of the Icelandic radio, which was built in 1959 and which was used for the radio navigation system LORAN-C until the mid-1990s.
