There are several good to acceptable hotels in the city. The "Fife Star Hotel" previously mentioned here is no longer one of them; it has been the US consulate for years and was the target of a massive attack in September 2013. The "Marco Polo" is worth mentioning because it is reasonably priced and well located. Otherwise, as a foreigner, you live in guest houses or, if you're only there for a short time, with friends.
