These tours cost around R700, which corresponds to around € 45, and consists of an approximately two-hour boat tour near the coast. Some of the providers offer a money-back guarantee if no whales are spotted at all. If whales are sighted directly on the coast, the "whale screeching from Hermanus" draws attention to them with his kelproo (a horn) by loud trumpeting.
  • On the coast the leads Hermanus Cliff Path through the Fynbos (the shrubbery typical of the Cape, which is very species-rich here) and offers beautiful views of the cliffs. Some branches lead to beaches. It has a length of more than 10 kilometers and is only interrupted for less than a kilometer at the mouth of the Mossel River. There are numerous benches along the route, and some sections are also suitable for wheelchairs. The Cliff Path is part of the Fernkloof-Nature reserve.
