The Georgian The border is only about 10 km away from Hopa, the Sarpi / Sarp border crossing is open 24 hours and the processing is usually efficient. It is therefore a good idea to take a day trip to Batumi to do or go to the beach in Sarpi or Gonio (also worth seeing: fortress Gonio-Apsaros) to be completed. The Black Sea beaches in Georgia are much busier than in Turkey, beach bars and other activities (such as kitesurfing, etc.) can be found in the season without any problems.
There are excursions in the direction of Artvin (approx. 70 km) that can also be easily reached on your own. The departures take place daily from Hopa (under the bridge).
