- Wuhan - With nearly 10,000,000 inhabitants, the capital of Hubei province is one of the major industrial and financial centers of the China. The city is located at the confluence of the Yangtze and Hanshui rivers.
- Yichang - Port on the Blue River (Yangtze) 320 km east of Wuhan, Yichang is the base for excursions also by boat to the famous "Three Gorges" carved by the Blue River to the point where the mighty dam stands, completed in 2006 to avoid the danger of floods and produce the electricity of which the country absolutely needs to ensure the continuity of its industrial development. The most spectacular of the 3 gorges is that of Qutang, the shortest and also the southernmost.
