Grießen hydropower plant
The Jänschwalder Heide is located directly on the Neisse north of the city Forst (Lausitz) or the Jänschwalde opencast mine. It is a large forest area, which will partly have to give way to the opencast mine of the same name.

The town became known nationwide Horno. Since 1977 there has been resistance to the demolition of the village for the Jänschwalde opencast mine. In 2004 the last couple still living there moved out. The former residents were given a new village (New Horno) built near Forst.

- The two villages are in the south, right by the opencast mine Heinersbrück (Lower Sorbian: Must) with the nearby little one Radewiese and Grötsch (Lower Sorbian: Groźišćo) are located directly at the Jänschwalde opencast mine.

The former military airfield is now a civil airfield. Airlines such as Lufthansa carry out training flights here. But there is also a check-in hall. The airport can also be served by charter planes. There is also a small exhibition on the history of aviation in the hall.

An F60 at work - Jänschwalde open-cast mine
- 1 Jänschwalde opencast mine. In the opencast mine, a type F60 conveyor bridge - the largest ever built - is in active service. The open pit has a few viewpoints.

- Drewitz village church. The church was built between 1820 and 1827. The pulpit altar is still preserved from the construction period.
