By plane
Jihlava is about halfway between Prague and Brno and thus the airports of both cities are about the same distance from Jihlava. However, there is a much better range of scheduled flights from Prague Airport.
By train
Despite its importance, the city can only be reached by regional trains. There are a few direct trains from Pilsen and Ceske Budejovice; Coming from Znojmo you usually have to change in Okřišky, coming from Prague or Brno in Havličkův Brod.
By bus
In the street
- The D1 Prague-Brno motorway (E50, E65) passes the city about 10 km north, exit 112 Pávov / Jihlava. The feeder road to the city is also expanded like a motorway.
- Fernstrasse 38 / E59 Havličkův Brod - Jihlava - Znojmo - Vienna: From Vienna via A22-S3-B303 and the border crossing at Kleinhaugsdorf via Znojmo. The road is largely a two-lane country road with through-town roads, but has already been expanded as an expressway in some areas with bypasses and viaducts.

St. Jacob's Church
The historic city center has been an urban monument reserve since 1982.
Churches
- 1 St. Jacob's Church (kostel sv. Jakuba). A Gothic three-aisled hall church with two towers is the main church of the city; Founded in 1243. Large bell in the south tower (approx. 7400 kg, 1564).
- 2 Jesuit Church of St. Ignatius (kostel sv. Ignáce s jezuitskou kolejí, seminářem a gymnáziem), next to the town hall. With two towers including a Jesuit college (), built 1680-1727 by Jacopo Braschi. In the nave, flat side chapels and oratories in Jesuit style on both sides.
- 3 Former Dominican monastery with Holy Cross Church (Kostel Povýšení svatého Kříže)
- 4 Church of the Assumption (klášter minoritský s kostelem Panny Marie). Monastery church of the former Minorite monastery near the Mother of God Gate, 13th century, three-aisled choir and ribbed vault.
- 5 Church of St. John the Baptist (Kostel sv. Jana Křtitele)
- 6 Mount of Olives and Holy Spirit Chapel (kostel sv. Ducha)

- 8 Ring seat (Masarykovo náměstí). Ensemble of several town houses with arcades from the 13th-16th centuries Century, the square has an area of almost 37 hectares. 36,653 square meters).

Mother of God Gate
- City walls, 14th century, largely preserved. Of the original five city gates, only this is left 10 Mother of God Gate (Brána Matky Boží), the symbol of the city.
Monuments
- 11 Mariensäule (plague column), at the Ringplatz. Erected 1686–1691 in place of the medieval pillory out of gratitude for overcoming the plague; Jacopo and Agostino Braschi. The Marian column is lined with statues of St. Francis Xaverius, St. Joseph, St. Sebastian and St. James by the baroque artist Antonio Laghi.
- 12 Fountain of Neptune and 13 Amphitrite fountain at the Ringplatz.
Museums

- 15 catacombs. 50,000 square meters and a length of approx. 25 km, the second largest underground labyrinth system in the Czech Republic after Znojmo. From the 14th century, the tunnels were cut in two to three storeys at a depth of 2 to 14 m in the rock below the city.
- 16 Jewish Cemetery. With some monumental tombstones, including the tombstone of Gustav Mahler's parents.
