Kadıköy is a district (Ilçe) and a municipality (Belediye) subject to the metropolitan municipality (Büyükşehir Belediyesi) of Istanbul.

It is located south of the district and municipality of Shkodra, in the Asian part of the city, overlooking the Sea of Marmara.

How to get
From Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)
The airport is about forty kilometers from the Kadikoy pier and there are two ways to get to the district from there.
- The urban bus E-10 active 24 hours a day. It starts in front of the arrivals terminal and the ticket (price October 2012: 7 TL) can be purchased at the kiosk of the city transport company located in front of the bus. The E-10 bus with the Ekspres lettering takes less time to make the journey as it travels a faster route.
- Bus Havatas active between 4.00 and 1.00. Shuttle service that operates every day, price January 2013: 8 TL
On the train
- 1 Söğütlüçeşme station (Söğütlüçeşme İstasyonu).
- 2 Haydarpaşa Station (Haydarpaşa Garı).

- 1 Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium (Ülker Stadium) (1km east of Kadıköy metro station and ferry dock). Fenerbahçe SK, a 47,834-seat stadium, plays there. It is located on the Asian shore of the Bosphorus.

- 1 Süreyya Operası (Süreyya Opera House), Bahariye Caddesi Caferağa Mahallesi No: 29, ☎ 90 2163461531. In operation since 1927, the Süreyya Opera House underwent a thorough restoration in the early 21st century and reopened its doors in 2007. Tickets can be purchased one month before the show at the box office of the theater or at the Atatürk Center on the square Taksim.
