Cayman Islands - a group of islands lying in Central America on Caribbean sea. It consists of three islands with a total area of 259 km². Population - 23 768 inhabitants, the main city and capital city Georgetown.
History
The archipelago was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1503 who called it "Tortugas". The current name was given by the English corsair Sir Francis Drake in 1586.
Travel time
The Cayman Islands have an equatorial and extremely humid climate. The maximum amount of precipitation falls in the months from September to October, the least in the period from March to April. The average annual temperature is 26 C.
Drive
to the Cayman Islands, you can fly to the airport located on the largest island of the archipelago - Grand Cayman. The air connection is only from American cities Boston, Chicago, Houston, Orlando, Tampas, Miami and z New York with Cayman Airwars three times a week. Polish citizens do not need a visa. If the trip is via the United States, we need a visa. The cost of travel from Poland is approximately PLN 2,700. in two directions.

Information needed
- For diving enthusiasts, the best visibility of the waters occurs in the summer months (July, August, September) and reaches 60 meters. The air temperature is then about 30 degrees Celsius and the air humidity is 90%. During this period, numerous hurricanes pass through the islands.
- The islands do not have fresh drinking water, the water comes from rainwater tanks.
- The greatest threat to tourists are mosquitoes and strong sun.
- The food is based on English and Jamaican cuisine. Fish, turtles and clams are a specialty.
- There are practically no backup machines on the two smaller islands of the Cayman Islands.
