Kastamonu is a city in the Turkish Black Sea Region.

background

The oldest traces of settlement go back to approx. 2000 BC. BC back. In many cases the city was a regional political and cultural center. That was a long time ago, but the traces can still be discovered. Today Kastamonu is the capital of the province of the same name and is known for tobacco growing and wooden furniture.

The bus station is about 5 km north of the city center. From here there are direct connections with Ankara, Istanbul, Karabuk and Safranbolu. The city is connected to the bus station via a Dolmuş connection.

In the street

The city is just off the D765 leading from the Black Sea coast of Inebolu to Çankiri leads. Here it crosses the D030 from Safranbolu to Hanönü.
